In December 1997, Sulaiti Marine became the first ever marine company to achieve quality certification to the International Ship Managers' Association Code of Ship Management Standards. We have also achieved quality certification to the ISO 9002 standard.

We therefore take our obligations towards Quality, Safety and Environmental Protection very seriously, at the same time, taking care not to conflict with those policies of our clients having an ISM Document of Compliance. This ensures that provision of our crew management services fits in seamlessly with the operation of our clients.

Human resources at sea are becoming an increasingly important element in ship operation. International initiatives - the ISM code and the revised STCW convention are designed to improve the overall standards of ship operation but with particular reference to the quality of human resources.

We chose to demonstrate our commitment to quality service through the ISMA route because we felt that being part of the ship management industry, the ISMA code had more relevance for our business, and therefore would provide a stricter test of our service than if we had chosen merely ISO 9002 on its own.

It is with great pride and humility we look back to our performances during the past two decades of our existence.
